A busy and fast-paced business with great benefits, plenty of opportunities for career progression and a friendly team environment.
The Role
As a Tool Hire Assistant, you’ll play an important role in delivering a great experience for our customers while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of our Tool Hire Centre.
You’ll be one of the first points of contact for our customers, helping them find the right equipment for their needs, arranging hire agreements and ensuring they receive a friendly, professional service from start to finish.
The role will include:
- Serving customers at the trade counter and helping them select the right tools and equipment.
- Dealing with customer enquiries both face-to-face and over the telephone.
- Preparing quotes and processing hire agreements.
- Organising and coordinating equipment collections and returns.
- Carrying out administrative duties associated with the hire process.
- Ensuring hired equipment is available, prepared and presented to the required standard.
- Supporting the Branch Manager with the day-to-day operation of the Tool Hire Centre.
- Helping to ensure equipment is used and hired safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Carrying out deliveries and collections when required, particularly during busy periods.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t necessarily need previous experience in the tool hire industry. What’s most important is that you’re friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoy helping customers.
You’ll be someone who:
- Is a natural people person and enjoys building relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Has a friendly, helpful and professional approach.
- Is confident communicating with customers face-to-face and over the telephone.
- Can learn new systems, products and processes quickly.
- Is organised and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Has strong attention to detail when completing hire contracts and administrative tasks.
- Has an interest in tools, equipment or mechanical products, with some mechanical knowledge being advantageous.
- Is comfortable working as part of a team while also taking responsibility for their own workload.
- Has a full UK driving licence, as there may be an expectation to carry out deliveries and collections from time to time.
